Big Girls Use the Potty! [Parent's Pick]

Big Girls Use the Potty Book

##Why We Chose It:

To my delight, my daughter suddenly expressed interest in reading books. She started reading some of the children's books that I bought for her. She would even take a peek whenever I'm reading my fashion magazines.

With that in mind, I bought Big Girls Use Potty! I thought that it would be an innovative way of encouraging her to use the potty by reading a potty training book.

I'm glad I was right! I just started potty training her so I wanted to have fun while teaching her how to use the potty properly.

What I really like about this book is that it's very realistic. The images used in the book are that of real children so my daughter was able to easily relate with the characters in the book.

The main character, a little girl, teaches her teddy bear how to use the potty. My daughter was able to relate to it because she has stuffed toys of her own. After reading it for the first time, she taught her potty doll how to use the potty.

The book also emphasizes the right potty training attitude – never be ashamed if an accident happens. Everybody goes through and it's part of the learning process.

Another positive thing about this book is that it makes use of rhymes. Children, in general, tends to learn faster when rhymes are used. My baby was thoroughly entertained. :)

Oh, and last thing, it comes with a potty training rewards chart! Definitely a good buy.

##Features:

* A fun introduction to a challenging family subject

* Lively, lyrical text is both motivating and fun

* Interactive chart and 80 reward stickers help track toddlers’ progress

##Cons:

Although this is not applicable to my situation, I feel that this book is suitable for older children (around 4 years and above) because the book doesn't actually teach the process. Younger children might have a harder time grasping the concept of potty training.

Big Girls Use Potty is a great potty training book to motivate your child to use the potty while learning AND also having fun.
